The Æ+Y has been engineered, built and crafted by a team of specialists, selected because they could fulfil the unique requirements of Yves Béhar's design. Æsir's collaborations with these suppliers have led to several engineering firsts in mobile phone design, as their expertise was applied in new and ingenious ways.

Æsir commissioned photographer Jonathan de Villiers to document a few of the many specialist and bespoke processes involved in making each Æ+Y. In some cases shooting larger than life size, his images have captured processes such as assembling the (patent pending) edge-key-mounting mechanism and hand setting the miniature magnets required for the Æ+Y's sliding covers (patent pending).
